NUsport is seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Gym Floor Instructors to deliver exceptional member experiences on the gym floor. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive team environment, help members achieve their goals, and make the gym a welcoming space for everyone.
About the Role
As a Gym Floor Instructor, you’ll:
- Deliver first-class customer service and support members on the gym floor
- Provide exercise guidance and safe equipment use information
- Contribute to a clean, safe, and motivating gym environment
- Promote NUsport programs and services to enhance member engagement
- Assist with regular equipment checks, floor supervision, and general upkeep.
About You
We’re looking for people who:
- Are passionate about health, fitness, and helping others achieve their goals
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Hold Certificate III in Fitness (minimum)
- Hold current First Aid and CPR qualifications
- Hold a Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Are available to work across seven days a week, including early mornings, daytime, and evening shifts
- Have a positive and proactive approach and thrive in a team environment.
(Training will be provided on site to set you up for success.)

NUsport is seeking passionate and experienced Swim Coaches, Lifeguards and Learn to Swim Instructors to deliver an exceptional and safe experience to our members and guests.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the operation of our world class Aquatic Centre, located at NUsport At The Forum, University of Newcastle Callaghan Campus. Our eight lane, 50m indoor swimming pool has undergone a significant refurbishment and is truly a state of the art facility, offering a wide range of swim and aquatics programs.
ABOUT YOU
Assistant Swim Coaches require:
- ASCTA Development Coach accreditation (or equivalent)
- Experience in a similar role, with strong leadership acumen
- Ability to work weekends, early mornings and evenings
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to effectively engage with a diverse range of customers
- A positive and proactive approach
- Valid CPR and First Aid qualification
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Knowledge of pool operations best practice (Pool Operations Certificate highly desirable).
Lifeguards require:
- Pool Lifeguard Certification including current First Aid and CPR
- Experience as a pool lifeguard with an understanding of best practice pool operations
- Understanding of WHS policies and procedures and proactive approach to aquatic safety
- Exceptional customer service skills and positive personality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Working with Children Check.
Learn to Swim Instructors require:
- AUSTSWIM – Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (or equivalent)
- Experience in Swim Instructor role
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people
- Valid CPR and First Aid qualification
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).

NUsport is looking for officials to ensure the smooth running of our weekly social sports competitions and to deliver high quality refereeing. Based at NUsport At The Forum Callaghan University Campus. We invite applicants of all levels – from those with loads of experience, to players who are passionate about their sport and keen to learn how to officiate.
