By joining NUsport you can rest assured that you are in safe hands.  NUsport is the ONLY fitness business in the region to hold Fitness Australia Quality Accreditation.

The Fitness Australia Quality Accreditation program is based on a culture of continuous quality improvement and business development to raise the standards and credibility within the fitness industry. The aim is to improve service delivery that’s meaningful. At NUsport we pride ourselves on being an industry leader. All NUsport Fitness staff are professional members with Fitness Australia. The Australian Fitness Industry Quality Program entails a four step process that is strengthened by an independent third party external assessment organisation.

The program is based on six performance criteria:

  • Professionalism - Service delivery is professional, effective and appropriate to the client’s needs.
  • Safety - Programs and services are delivered safely through a comprehensive risk management approach. Facilities and equipment are of a high standard.
  • Customer Care - The customer is at the centre of the business and is always treated with care and respect.
  • Information and Knowledge - Data and information are used effectively.
  • People - The workforce is capable of delivering and supporting the services being offered.
  • Leadership - The business is capable of delivering and supporting the services being offered.

We know the Health Fund lingo differs, so we've tried to help.  If you're with the following providers, it may be as simple as a signed GP form supplied by your health fund.

Current members can login to the member portal with the email address attached to your current membership. If you have never logged in before, click the Forgot Password link to reset your account.

The member portal will allow you to manage your NUsport membership including:

  • Book a spot in group fitness classes
  • Update your personal information
  • Apply a membership freeze (timestop) to your current membership (terms and conditions apply)
  • Manage and track your membership payment details
  • Renew your membership or sign up to a new contract
  • Make additional bookings including Learn to Swim, My Wellness Assessment, kids holiday programs and more

Membership Freeze (timestop)

Membership Transfer or Cancellation

KIDS IN GYMS

Kids in Gyms

Restrictions are placed on facility usage for children aged 0 - 16 years. Please refer to the Kids in NUsport Facilities Chart for an outline of facility and program use.

MEMBERSHIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By accessing a NUsport Managed Facility or participating in any NUsport Program You (on Your own behalf or as guardian of Your child) acknowledge and agree that these terms and conditions together with any application or membership form to which these terms are referred or attached make up a binding agreement between You and NUsport. This Agreement is accepted by either signing the application or membership form, paying the relevant membership or program fees or accessing any NUsport Managed Facility or participating in any NUsport Program after receiving notice of this Agreement.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much does a NUsport membership cost?

Memberships start from as little as $19.25 per week with the ease of fortnightly direct debits.

I’m a University of Newcastle student, do I get a member discount?

NUsport offers current University of Newcastle students discounted memberships starting from $12.30 per week.  Have a look at our complete membership options specific to University of Newcastle students here.

Can I attend casual group fitness classes?

Group fitness classes are free to all current members only.  Bookings are essential, please book your spot using The Forum App.

Do I need to be a member to use the gym?

You can pay $22.00 for a casual entry if you are not a member or purchase a 5 visit pack for $89.00.

Do I need to be a member to use the pool?

You can pay $6.50 for casual entry if you are not a member, or purchase a 20 visit pack for $117.00.

Do I need to bring a sweat towel?

Sweat towels are compulsory. Use a clean sweat towel for each session.  We recommend you use one as a barrier on the equipment and one to towel off perspiration while exercising.

NUsport members who are not University of Newcastle students or staff can purchase a parking permit for NUsport Sports & Aquatic Centre for $50.00.  Terms and conditions apply.

Are Companion cards accepted at NUsport?

Yes. Companion cards are accepted at NUsport for client supervision entry.
