To join the Ourimbah Pop Up Gym, memberships are processed online through the NUsport At The Forum website. You can join here.

If you are a member of Fitness Passport you will need to ensure you activate your Fitness Passport with NUsport At The Forum first. You can do this here.

All members and visitors must request Cardax access prior to their first visit.
Please email asknusport@newcastle.edu.au for Cardax approval.

University students and staff can access the NUsport At The Forum, Ourimbah Pop Up Gym with either a membership or as a Fitness Passport visitor. TAFE staff and students can only access the pop up gym as a Fitness Passport visitor. 

The Pop Up Gym is a smaller facility with limited equipment. The main purpose of the Pop Up Gym is:

• a place for University and TAFE students and staff to exercise
• to gauge interest in a permanent fitness facility on the Ourimbah campus

The Pop Up Gym will be open Monday to Friday between the hours 6am – 7pm.   

Member access will be provided by using your University student or staff card, or TAFE card at the entry doors through the cardax system. PLEASE NOTE - Cardax has to be activated by NUsport before your card will work for access. 

The NUsport At The Forum Ourimbah Pop Up Gym is located in the previous Student Union Offices (SUO) ground floor building (101). 

Membership to the NUsport At The Forum Ourimbah Pop Up Gym is available for both University students and staff. The cost is $6.95 per week, debited fortnightly ($13.90). This is a standard, one flat fee membership rate for both students and staff of the University of Newcastle.

• The membership has a minimum commitment period of 4 weeks
• No long term lock in contracts
• Flexible time freeze options
• Members can manage their fortnightly payments through the member portal and Forum App
• Debits are taken fortnightly on a Thursday.

If you are a member of Fitness Passport, you’re Fitness Passport membership will give you access to the Ourimbah Pop Up Gym.  More information is below in this document.

• The 14 Days FREE is applied when the membership is purchased
• You will need to pay the pro-rata amount upfront to get you onto the Thursday debit cycle
• Your first fortnightly debit of $13.90 will be waived.

Yes, NUsport At The Forum Ourimbah Pop Up Gym is a registered Fitness Passport facility.

You need to ensure that you have registered your Fitness Passport membership with NUsport At The Forum to gain entry to the Ourimbah Pop Up Gym. If you have questions, please contact asknusport@newcastle.edu.au

Please complete the Fitness Passport visit register every time you visit.

Yes, If you are a current University student or staff member, your NUsport membership will give you access to the Ourimbah Pop-up Gym. You will need to contact Sally.Roser@newcastle.edu.au to be given access to the Ourimbah Pop Up Gym facility.

The Ourimbah Pop Up Gym has two unisex toilets and one unisex shower located within the facility.

Full changeroom facilities, including four showers in both Male and Female amenities, are located at the Exercise and Sport Science buildings, approximately a 5-minute walk across campus. 

Shower facilities for University staff only are located at:

• Business Offices (2 showers in both Male and Female amenities)
• Business and Investment Centre of Excellence (1 shower in both Male and Female amenities).

No, unfortunately. To join the Ourimbah Pop Up Gym you need to complete the online joining process prior to visiting the facility. 

Access to the facility can take up to 48 hours to process from joining online. 

NUsport would love your feedback on the Ourimbah Pop Up Gym on how we can improve.  If the Ourimbah Pop Up Gym is successful in the initial period, the services can expand further.
