LAPS FOR LIFE
Team NUsport is taking the plunge for Laps for Life this March.
Every day, another young Australian loses their life to suicide. But together, we can make a difference.
By diving in and raising funds for ReachOut, you’ll help ensure young people get the mental health support they urgently need.
Signing up is free, and every lap you swim brings us one step closer to saving lives. Join us this March and make a splash for a great cause.

ACCESSIBILITY
NUsport is committed to supporting members and the community from all walks of life with ability and determination by providing facilities that promotes and advocates for positive physical and mental health.
Accessibility and equity are strategic priorities of NUsport, underpinned by the University of Newcastle ’s leadership in inclusion.
Everything we do involves wide consultation with our accessible community; review and improvement of current policies, practices, systems and infrastructure; and building confidence and capacity for staff to deliver programs inclusively.
The newly refurbished aquatic facility at NUsport has been modified to accommodate all abilities enabling us to be the premier destination for accessibility in our community.
This includes the existing structure to have a disabled ramp and accessible changerooms and installation of a new elevator with improved accessibility.
LEUKAEMIA FOUNDATION
In honour of our staff member Matt Storey who passed away in October 2017 after a long battle with both Hodgkin Lymphoma and graft-versus-host-disease, we proudly support the Leukaemia Foundation.
We are currently fundraising with the Entertainment Membership.
GIVING BACK
NUsport is proud to play an active role in helping to raise awareness and funds that support local charities, schools, sporting and surf clubs in the Newcastle area.
Each year NUsport provides use of its facilities as well as donates prizes to assist community-based organisations in their fundraising endeavours.
This support is valued at more than $50,000 each year - a contribution that we are proud of. If you would like to be considered for a donation or in-kind support, please email asknusport@newcastle.edu.au.
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal and Worimi Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
